Parent to Parent of Georgia is offering a free webinar for parents on the Katie Beckett deeming waiver application process on January 25, 2022. This Medicaid is for children with disabilities under the age of 18 who do not qualify for SSI (Supplemental Security

Income) because their family has income/assets above the financial eligibility limits for SSI.

Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency is hosting a Parent Forum to give parents more opportunities to hear about how to access services and types of available services, as well as time to ask questions directly.

These sessions will take place on the third Tuesday of every month from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The only exception is during the month of December 2021, when the forum will be hosted on Dec. 14. The meetings will be facilitated by Assistant Director of Transition Jeff Allen. If you have any questions, please send them to Jeff at jeff.allen@gvs.ga.gov.

  • What types of services are available

  • Importance of early conversations

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Parent to Parent of Georgia will present a free virtual workshop for parents on how to use effective communication skills to develop a partnership with their child's IEP/IFSP team. Tips will be provided on how to prepare for school meetings and how to be an effective member of the team. The training will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
