2026 G-CASE Early Career Special Education Administrator of the Year

The Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE) proudly recognizes Matthew Hall of Wilcox County Schools as the 2026 Early Career Special Education Administrator of the Year—an honor that highlights emerging leaders who are already making a powerful impact in the field of special education.

Matthew serves as Special Education Director for Wilcox County Schools, where he also supports multiple areas including MTSS/504, tribunals, transportation, and family and community engagement. His leadership reflects the very mission of G-CASE—promoting strong professional learning, collaboration, and excellence in programs that serve students with disabilities.


In a relatively short time in the role, Matthew has demonstrated what effective leadership looks like in action. He is known for his ability to build meaningful relationships with teachers, families, and community partners while ensuring that systems and supports are in place for students to thrive. His work consistently centers on improving outcomes for students with disabilities and supporting the educators who serve them each day.

Matthew’s commitment to growth and professional learning is also evident through his engagement with the broader special education community. Opportunities such as attending national professional learning experiences and collaborating with colleagues across Georgia reflect his dedication to continually strengthening his leadership and bringing innovative ideas back to his district. Those who work alongside Matthew quickly recognize his steady leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and genuine heart for students. He approaches challenges with professionalism and humility while always keeping the focus where it belongs—on what is best for children.

This recognition from G-CASE celebrates not only Matthew’s accomplishments to date, but also the tremendous promise he brings to the future of special education leadership in Georgia.
