About the event
Join East Central GLRS for a full-day, hands-on regional training focused on identifying reading barriers and increasing student access to instruction and grade-level content. Participants will learn how to use uPAR, the Universal Protocol for Accommodations in Reading, to compare student performance across reading conditions and make data-informed decisions about appropriate reading accommodations. The afternoon session will provide guided practice with Read&Write, an assistive technology tool that supports reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary development, study skills, and independent access to digital materials.
Participants will explore how uPAR data and Read&Write features can be used together to strengthen instructional planning, specially designed instruction, accommodation decisions, IEP team discussions, and classroom implementation. Practical strategies will be provided for supporting students across content areas and increasing independence with assistive technology.
Attendance at both the morning uPAR session and the afternoon Read&Write session is required. Participants should plan to attend the entire training and bring a laptop…
