About the event

How Can I Support Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Paraprofessional Training

Paraprofessionals are an important part of an educational team and can be very helpful in supporting a student with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to be successful in the general education setting. Because of the number of roles paraprofessionals serve, and because of the increase in the number of students with ASD, it is more important than ever for paraprofessionals to be prepared to support students with ASD. Designed for paraprofessionals that support students with ASD in the general education setting, participants will learn the characteristics of ASD, identify strategies to employ during general education segments to support students’ needs, and explore ideas for successfully collaborating with other school stakeholders.
