About the event

Build Student Voice Into Everyday Practice

ASPIRE is a student-led IEP initiative that helps students with disabilities understand their strengths and needs, set meaningful goals, and speak up for the supports they need to succeed. Through intentional instruction and opportunities to practice, students can become active partners in decisions about their learning and future.

Why teach these skills?

Teaching these skills helps students set goals, solve problems, make informed choices, and communicate their needs. Greater self-determination is linked to stronger goal attainment and better employment, community participation, and quality-of-life outcomes after school.
